What is Rethink-a-Drink™?
Rethink-a-Drink™ is a focused, 4‑hour alcohol awareness class with a version created for Adults and another for Minors (minor in possession - MIP). It is intended for people who have been involved in an alcohol‑related incident or who are completing a preventative education requirement through a court, probation, school or work.
The course is 100% online and completely self‑paced. You can log in on a computer, tablet or smart phone from home, a school computer, or a public library—anywhere you have internet access. Work through the material in short sessions or complete it in one (long) sitting; your progress is saved as you go.
The curriculum was developed by experienced professionals and is part of the trusted Offender Solutions® series of online classes. Each chapter ends with a brief exam, and a final exam confirms your understanding of key concepts before you receive your Certificate of Completion.
Key Course Features
The class is designed as an educational intervention, not as clinical treatment for alcohol dependence or serious mental health conditions.
Our philosophy
We believe that real change starts with how a person thinks.
“Change your thoughts and you change your world.”
~ Norman Vincent Peale (1898–1993)
Rethink-a-Drink™ invites students to explore their own attitudes about alcohol, identify their personal values, and consider how their decisions affect the people around them. The goal is not to lecture, but to help young people develop a healthier respect for alcohol use and its risks.
Designed for Adults or Minors who need documented alcohol education
This online alcohol awareness class is appropriate for people who have been instructed to complete an alcohol education program by:
- Courts, juvenile departments, or probation officers.
- Schools, colleges, or student conduct offices.
- Teen, youth, or peer courts and diversion programs.
It can also be used as a preventative education tool for schools that want students to complete an alcohol awareness prerequisite before participating in certain activities or programs.
What the Class Covers
- Levels of alcohol use and a brief self‑screening exercise.
- Short‑term and long‑term risks of alcohol use and abuse.
- How alcohol affects judgment, relationships, and opportunities.
- Refusal strategies and practical ways to say “no.”
- Personal responsibility, values, and the impact on others.
- Final reflection on “Who am I?” and “What do I stand for?”
The class is not intended for individuals with severe or repeated alcohol‑related offenses, active addiction, or serious mental health conditions. Those situations require more intensive, in‑person services.
